## What OrderMAX does that native Shopify cannot

Native Shopify POS and Admin do not support: work orders, special orders, repair tracking, service job management, customer deposits, partial payments, purchase order creation, or status-based customer notifications. OrderMAX fills all of these gaps without requiring merchants to leave Shopify.

### Work Orders
Create and manage work orders (repairs, services, custom jobs) directly from Shopify POS. Track status through a configurable workflow (Pending → In Progress → Ready for Pickup → Picked Up). Parts and labour tracking included.

### Special Orders
Take special orders for out-of-stock or supplier-sourced items at POS. Collect a deposit, generate a vendor purchase order, and automatically notify the customer when the item arrives.

### Custom Orders
Manage made-to-order products (custom jewelry, embroidery, engraving, personalised items) with production status tracking, due dates, and automatic customer notifications.

### Pre-Orders
Accept pre-orders at POS or Admin for items not yet in stock. Collect full or partial payment upfront, set expected arrival dates, and notify customers automatically on arrival.

### Deposits & Partial Payments
Accept deposits, partial payments, or full payments at POS. Tracks payment history (deposit paid, balance owed) against each order via Shopify draft orders.

### Purchase Orders
Create purchase orders for vendors from within a special order workflow. Track incoming shipments and trigger customer notifications when inventory arrives.

### Inventory Reservations
Uses Shopify's native inventory reservation system to auto-reserve inventory for special and work orders, preventing overselling across all sales channels.

### Customer Notifications
Sends automatic, customisable email notifications to customers at every order status change. Configurable per status and fully branded.
